Minister in Prime
Minister Department Azalina Othman Said announcing that Putrajaya would not conduct
a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on 1MDB
Minister in Prime Minister Department Azalina Othman Said
officially announced that Putrajaya would not conduct a Royal Commission of
Inquiry (RCI) on 1MDB to find the root cause of its problems and refuses
identify a precautionary measure to prevent future reoccurrences. This message
was target specifically towards Indera Mahkota MP Fauzi Abdul Rahman where
Minister Azalina argued that the existing investigation mechanism by certain
agencies is sufficient and ongoing.
The answer was given to parliamentarians by Azalina on the
last day of the last session of Dewan Rakyat to intentionally avoid a debate or
further questioning. However, Fauzi argued if there really was no wrong doing
why is Putrajaya not ready to set up a RCI to probe independently, accurately
and in detail on the performance of 1MDB, to recommend the needed precautionary
measures if the state-owned firm faced any problems? Fauzi also demanded
Putrajaya to state the reasons if they weren’t ready.
Gelang Patah MP Lim
Kit Siang claiming Minister in Prime Minister Department Azalina Othman Said as
worst minister in charge of parliamentary affairs
Gelang Patah MP Lim Kit Siang gave a statement where Minister
in the Prime Minister’s Department Azalina Othman Said should had committed
hara-kiri or seppuku in Parliament on if she was serious in upholding the
Bushido code of honour above life. “Nobody expects Azalina to uphold the
Bushido code of honour for the dishonour to Parliament, but where is she going
to hide her face after Thursday?” said the Member of Parliament.
Lim challenged Azalina to move a motion against herself to
the Committee of Privileges as a proof of righteousness as to whether she had
committed a breach of power in parliamentary privilege and what punishment commensurate
should she be found guilty. “Azalina is the worst Minister in the Prime
Minister’s Department entrusted with the specific task of parliamentary affairs
since such a portfolio was specifically assigned to a Minister in 2004,” Lim
added.
Lim also accused that it was clear that Azalina was not only
completely without a sense of contrition or remorse for the dishonour she had
done to Parliament, she intentionally started another parliamentary outrage by
turning Parliament into a “kangaroo court” to convict Lembah Pantai MP Nurul
Izzah Anwar over the Nurul-Jacel photograph episode.
However Azalina replied Lim through the media by stating “I
will entertain you by telling you we will answer at the end of session on
December 3” during the question-and-answer time on the last day of the
parliamentary meeting, though she refused to confirm if Najib would be
answering the issue himself. Azalina also enforced that “Whether the Prime
Minister will answer or anyone in the Prime Minister’s Department, it is still
the prerogative of the Prime Minister.”
Tech Blogger Keith
Rozario whistleblowing Azalina lies on Putrajaya spyware purchase
Tech Blogger Keith Rozario accused Minister in the Prime
Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said of lying when she told
Parliament that Putrajaya did not purchase spyware from Italian IT firm,
Hacking Team; Malaysian Insider reported.
Keith claimed that Phineas Fisher, the hacker responsible
for leaking the data, didn’t just release e-mail trails, but also included
brochures, invoices and the secret 0-day exploits (pronounced
ZERO-DAY-EXPLOITS) in a giant 500GB download. Those 0-days are ‘proprietary’
hacking team exploits, and it’s what made their infamous RCS software possible.
The Tech Blogger also uploaded leaked evidence of
telegraphic transfer between Miliserv Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd and Hacking Team
where there were two different transactions of £38,500 (RM170,270) and £210,000
(RM899,157) respectively.
Rozario claims that the receipts were evidence that
Purtrajaya was involved in buying the spyware through Miliserv Technologies (M)
Sdn Bhd, a 100% Bumiputera firm registered with the Ministry of Finance
Malaysia (MoF) as proxy for the purchase. He also challenged Minister in the
Prime Minister’s Department Azalina Othman Said to proof him otherwise by
stating a statement “If the government hasn’t procured spyware from Hacking
Team, I strongly advise the minister (Azalina) to investigate this Malaysian
company for making huge payments to an enemy of the Internet,”
We’ve all known that in November Azalina had rubbished the
spyware purchase claim in parliament with an argument of “no such purchase” despite
an Internet leak by hacker Phineas Fisher in July detailing that Malaysia was
among several countries, including the United States, Russia, United Arab
Emirates, Singapore and Thailand, which were clients of Hacking Team.
Rozario said he had the receipts in June, closer to the time
the Hacking Team leak was released but chose not to expose them then but later
changed his mind after Azalina’s denial in Parliament. He also added where the
government purchase of the spyware weren’t the real issue but rather what it is
used for with a statement “Is it used with a warrant? Is it used for catching
criminals, or criminalising politicians (and their lawyers)?”
On December 1, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak rubbished
the facts to the Dewan Rakyat and claims that Putrajaya did not have any
information related to the acquisition of a remote control system to spy on the
people.
Attached are the telegraphic transfer (TT) slips as uploaded
by Keith Rozario. Whether the slips are genuine or forged, Malaysia Critique
leave it for the readers to decide.
